Gestora Catalana de Residuos is a leader company in production of new generation of plastic pellets. Calculating the carbon footprint of its products has allowed them to rigorously know the environmental improvement of their products compared to conventional plastic pellets.
Among the products whose carbon footprint has been verified, there are three pellets produced with recycled plastic from industrial origin, and six products Granic ® family, a new family of additives incorporating minerals combined with recycled plastic from industrial or virgin plastic.
The carbon footprint study has been carried out in the context of a life cycle analysis of these products. In this study, carried out by Cyclus, besides the impact on climate change, have been taken into account other environmental impacts such as the potential of eutrophication and the acidification potential.
